Redefining Your Favourite Ritual

Master-level acoustic playback with semi-automatic operation is a rare luxury… until now. Exceptionally quiet, mechanically bulletproof, and reassuringly convenient, Dual’s flagship direct-drive turntable with (switchable) auto-stop tonearm lift refines reference vinyl performance, lifting the burden on vinyl record changes.

CS 718Q Hotspot Features:

Dual CS-718Q Manual Turntable Australia walnut

Dynamic Carbon Tonearm

Engineered with an aluminium-carbon sandwich tube and precision twin gimbal bearings, the CS 718Q tonearm delivers unparalleled rigidity and resonance damping, unearthing delicate micro-dynamics across your vinyl collection.

Records sing with absolute clarity thanks to 718Q’s rotary height-adjustable VTA mechanism, optimising geometry to extract maximum spatial depth and holographic realism from reference audiophile pressings.

Furthermore, dynamic tracking force is effortlessly applied via a German spiral spring, maintaining perfect stylus contact across warped pressings to eliminate gravity-induced tracking errors throughout your record's lifespan.

Stepless Anti-Skate

A precision rotary mechanism featuring a calibrated internal spring smoothly offsets skating forces that would otherwise impose uneven lateral friction and wear upon delicate stylus contact edges.

Smooth stepless anti-skate calibration delivers accurate channel separation, abolishing distortion, extending vinyl longevity, and harmonising stereo balance across both left and right sound channels.

Calibrated without detents, exceptionally responsive, and built to accommodate any premium cartridge profile, CS 718Q’s Anti-skate Adjustment assembly maximises tracing fidelity while preserving your irreplaceable vinyl records.

Azimuth Headshell

Engineered with an integrated azimuth clamp and rigid alloy structure, 718Q’s removable headshell ensures your chosen high-end cartridge maintains flawless vertical alignment across demanding record grooves.

718Q’s robust bayonet connector simplifies precision cartridge mounting and cartridge swapping, allowing swift cartridge installations without disturbing delicate tonearm wiring or demanding frustrating adjustments.

Serious vinyl enthusiasts curate cartridges the way master photographers select lenses, seeking distinct tonal signatures. Equipping varied headshell and cartridge pairings allows you to tailor personal listening sessions, enriching every vinyl encounter.

Speed Control

Effortless and wonderfully tactile, Dual’s speed selection dial makes flipping between your favourite records a dream. Sling singles, start a 78 collection, or line up a playlist of LPs. It’s too easy and way too much fun.

33 ⅓ – for conventional 12" record play. This is the standard speed by which most records are pressed.

45 – originally used for EPs & singles, these days many high fidelity pressing are recorded at 45rpm to improve sound quality

78 – is itself an entirely different format to conventional vinyl records. They're harder, have much narrower record grooves, and require specific cartridges.

Damped Plinth

A turntable’s resolving musical transparency depends directly upon structural isolation. That’s why CS 718Q is anchored by a folded MDF plinth finished in satin black or real walnut wood veneer.

Considerably denser than standard cabinet timber, Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) dissipates micro-vibrations that blur acoustic imaging, elevating master-tape clarity and bass control throughout playback.

Resting on four height-adjustable elastomer feet, featuring custom internal vibration isolators, CS 718Q blends heritage German styling with modern high-end isolation, performing with reference authority in every system.

Damped Platter

A precision die-cast aluminium platter paired with a full-surface rubber undercoating creates unshakeable rotational inertia while eliminating ringing frequencies. So, you experience pitch-perfect timing with dead-quiet backgrounds.

Engineered with heavy die-cast metal weighing 1.9kg and turning upon a hardened steel spindle inside brass bushings, 718Q’s platter assembly provides supreme mechanical stability. This guarantees whisper-quiet, drift-free rotation over decades of listening.

A 4mm thick rubber mat dampens micro-vibrations that contaminate acoustic decay and rob instruments of dynamic contrast. Its anti-static properties also shield precious grooves and stylus tips from abrasive ambient airborne dust particles.

Balanced Outputs

CS 718Q features audiophile-grade balanced XLR and gold-plated RCA outputs, granting pure analog connection to dedicated standalone phono stages, integrated preamps, and fully balanced stereo electronics.

Rejecting common-mode interference before signal reaches external amplification, CS 718Q preserves tiny phono-level electrical voltages from RF noise, yielding extraordinary dynamic range and a pristinely quiet background during reference playback.

External high-end phono preamps unlock greater holographic detail and musical depth. Thanks to CS 718Q’s studio-grade balanced line connections, your analogue setup effortlessly evolves alongside your high-fidelity sound ambitions.

Ironless Drive

CS 718Q incorporates an ironless air-core direct-drive motor system for completely cogless, silent playback. Direct drive eliminates worn, stretching rubber belts for absolute pitch stability. And with superior quartz control delivering unwavering rotational torque, you enjoy reference musical accuracy every time.

Dynamic Tracking

Dual’s precision German spiral spring applies gravity-independent tracking force, delivering unshakeable stylus stability and pinpoint groove tracing. Finely calibrated and immune to surface warps, dynamic tracking unlocks the subtle acoustic nuances necessary to breathe life into every performance.

Balanced Studio Sound

Protect your fragile musical signals from airborne interference. Offering dedicated balanced XLR connections, CS 718Q transmits delicate micro-volt cartridge currents with zero hum or induced noise. When paired with high-performance external phono electronics, CS 718Q delivers uncompromised reference purity.
